Antony Cirocco

Antony Cirocco MA BA has worked as a photographer for over 18 years. He has worked with clients in both state government and the private sector. Antony has also produced feature length broadcast documentaries, music videos and over 300 TV commercials. He has successfully managed short course education programs at AFTRS and served as the Film and Television Head of Department for JMC Academy in South Melbourne. Antony has also worked as a contract lecturer, course and program designer for the Academy of Information Technology, The International Film School Sydney, CATC Design School and Think Education. Antony began his teaching career in Japan over a decade ago.

Cherryl Bautista

Cherryl has worked in the VET sector for the last 8 years and has extensive experience, from owning her own RTO to managing the Human Services programs for one of the largest VET provider of online and blended courses in Australia. She started her career in the aged care sector where she pioneered a low care facility, achieved 3 years’ accreditation and increased funding by 60% through ACFI. Cherryl holds a Diploma in Health and Aged Care, Diploma in Leadership and Management, Diploma in Business, Diploma in Quality Auditing and Diploma in Counselling.

Chris Hosking

Chris Hosking is the Program Manager for Animal Care. Since 2004 he has had experience working with native and exotic invertebrates, fish, frogs, reptiles’ birds, and mammals. From 2008 to 2014 Chris coordinated the Australian Museum’s Live Exhibits where he undertook animal management, staff training and developed content about the live displays for the Museum’s programs. Chris remains a member of the Australian Museum’s Animal Care and Ethics Committee and a member of the Australasian Society of Zoo Keeping. Chris has a Bachelor of Arts from Flinders University and Certificate IV in Captive Animals.

Chris Veness

For over a decade, Chris has been training industry professionals and interior design students at both University and TAFE levels, as well as working in the design industry and running his own design and 3D practice. His wealth of teaching experience covers all aspects of Design, CAD, BIM and 3D software. In 2011, he was awarded "Teacher of the Year" at the Canberra Institute of Technology and in 2014 received the highest student satisfaction rating at the University of Canberra. As a practising building designer and interior designer, Chris delivers the very highest quality standards to his clientele. He is a leader and pioneer of 3D visualisations and artist impressions. Chris is the Program Manager for the Building & Construction/Interior Design & Decoration courses.

Claire Stevenson

Claire has worked for the NSW Department of Education and Communities supporting children with additional needs. She has also been a School Support Learning Officer and has extensive experience with supporting students’ individual and group-based needs, providing reading recovery and teaching assistance. Claire is passionate about training and finds it rewarding to pass on her extensive knowledge to her students so that they have the skills and confidence to work in education support.

Laura Tavella

Laura is a graphic designer, footwear designer, illustrator and all-round creative. With extensive qualifications, Laura has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication with a major in graphic design, as well as a Diploma and Certificate IV in Higher Educational Studies, a Certificate in Cartooning and Illustrating, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is completing a Master of Cross Disciplinary Art and Design. Design and education are Laura’s two passions in life, and being able to integrate those on a daily basis is her goal. Laura aims to train and assist her students with gaining the industry skills and confidence they need to be successful in their chosen design career.

Lorrah Berg

Lorrah has been with Open Colleges for over 3 years working in the Quality and Standards Division as well as the Education Division. Her qualifications include Certificate IV in TAE, Graduate Diploma of Social Ecology with strong interest in personal change, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Certificate IV in Kinesiology and Certificate IV in Small Business.

Lorrah’s RTO experience includes, implementing the AQTF Standards, teaching at Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), writing course material for Public Service Training Package, developing policy, procedures and quality frameworks and managing programs.  

Additionally, Lorrah implemented ISO:9001 Standards into the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, led internal audits and managed the rollout of the Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP) across 5000 Australian pharmacies. Lorrah was a senior member of the QCPP national judging panel, pharmacy’s most prestigious award.

Lorrah’s passion is learning and working with people to support them in being the best they can be and uses her breadth of knowledge and experience in the role of Program Manager.

Michelle Christie

Michelle has over six years’ experience in Training & Assessment. Michelle was originally working within the retail and pharmacy industry. In mid-2007 Michelle was the deserving state winner of the Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY NSW) after which she was given an opportunity to work for a RTO. As a trainer and assessor Michelle is able to train retail, community pharmacy, management, business and “train the trainer”– TAE qualifications. She has a strong belief in value based training and a natural inclination to mentor, influence and motivate her students. She  is the “training and assessment guru” for TAE specific questions and has a high level of understanding in VET. Her areas of speciality are training delivery, assessment, training packages, instructional design, validations, RTO compliance, funding and tenders.

Mimma Gatto

With experience spanning 24 years in the fashion Industry, Mimma Gatto is recognised as an established, award winning designer. Her personal business specialises in custom, made-to-measure bridal couture gowns. Mimma runs specialty workshops in handmade millinery and hand-beading. In addition, she has directed and taught students in Applied Fashion Design & Technology at TAFE NSW. With her extensive experience, knowledge and determination, Mimma is looking forward to working with all students wanting to study, refine their skills and graduate in fashion design.

Nada Goodacre

Nada has worked nationally within the VET sector and RTO's for the last 20 years for private providers, NGO's and government organisations within the community services sector, including the Job Network Services, Community Housing, homelessness programs and for a large World Youth Organisation.

Nada's responsibilities have included national project management of VET qualifications for online and face-to-face deliveries, design and delivery of VET qualifications, compliance and tendering to government and private organisations.

Nada currently holds a Diploma in Management, Diploma in Teaching, a Certificate IV in TAE and is completing her Masters in e Learning. Nada also has worked as a volunteer Mentor in The Lucy Mentoring Program for women at Macquarie University.

Renju Philip

Renju Jacob Philip is a graduate from University of New South Wales with a Masters in Engineering Science- Telecommunications. His passion for technical advances in the IT industry motivated him to be an IT Freelancer from his student days. His previous work experience as a software engineer at Accenture Services has strengthened his in-depth understanding of various aspects of the IT Industry. Renju’s desire to share his IT experiences and knowledge to others, has led him to be an IT trainer and assessor in the VET Industry. His other qualifications include Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Software Development and Graduate Diploma of Management.

Robert Bikesic

Robert has skills in many areas, including lecturing, coordinating fitness programs, personal training and running group fitness classes. He is passionate about helping individuals achieve their sporting and fitness goals. Robert holds a bachelors degree in Sports Coaching and Administration, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Certificate IV in Fitness, a Level 2 in Strength and Conditioning and other related certifications. He also currently competes in the Men’s Black Belt under 87 kg divisions in WTF Taekwondo; hoping to eventually achieve the green and gold.

Sally Lee

Sally Lee is an experienced Veterinary Nurse. She has completed both the Certificate II in Animal Studies and the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Sally has worked in a number of veterinary practices with various professional responsibilities ranging from monitoring anaesthesia to practice management. She is currently employed by two of the busiest specialist veterinary practices in Sydney. Sally also has experience with native wildlife, a passion of hers.

Vanessa Ellis

Vanessa is an enrolled nurse with 10 years of experience in the health and community services sector. She entered the VET sector in 2007 working with a major disability services provider who wanted to become a Registered Training Organisation, designing learning and assessment materials and project managing the initial registration application. Since then, Vanessa managed her own business providing learning and assessment support to multiple RTOs within the health and community services sector and facilitating education programs on behalf of the Department of Health and Ageing. Vanessa maintains industry currency, still working as an enrolled nurse in both acute and community based services.

Trainers

 

Aaron King

Aaron is an accredited exercise physiologist who runs his own practice called 'Fit Clinic.' Aaron has been an AEP for over 10 years and brings valuable experience in both the fitness and allied health fields. Aaron began his career in fitness while studying sport and exercise science. He finished his Certificate IV in Fitness while completing this degree and began work in multiple fitness centres, learning his craft and applying exercise science principles to his work. Aaron then branched out into treating workplace and musculoskeletal injury alongside physiotherapists and orthopaedic surgeons. From there, he furthered his career to include work within residential aged care facilities treating a range of conditions through exercise and lifestyle interventions. 

Aileen Sanjoto

Aileen Sanjoto has been working in the retail and commercial interior design sector for the past 10 years. 
As a practicing Interior Designer and lecturer, she believes that design is a versatile subject that can be taught across many platforms to engage and stimulate creative minds.


As a educator, Aileen strives to deliver the highest level of training, learning and support to all students, by providing both conceptual and theoretical knowledge of design, as well as current information on the latest design news and development.

Alan Fahy

Alan Fahy has been a business consultant and coach in private practice since 2008, specialising in the areas of performance optimisation, strategic growth and the customer experience. Prior to this, Alan held senior corporate roles in the banking industry including Head of Client Relationships for St George Margin Lending and State Manager Securities (NSW & ACT) for the ANZ Bank. He also has extensive experience as a corporate trainer in the disciplines of Finance, Leadership and Management along with three years as a trainer in the VET sector. Alan holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (University of NSW). 

Alicia Estrella

Alicia has more than 20 years of teaching experience both in tertiary institutions and the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Alicia has been a childcare centre Director, and was a finalist in the 2010 NSW Childcare Week Award. Her qualifications include a NOOSR Australian Bachelor’s Degree equivalent, Diploma of Children’s Services, Diploma of Information and Library Services, and a Certificate in Language Teaching from the University of Sydney which includes a Certificate in Training and Assessment.

Alicia Harris

Alicia has worked in the field of occupational therapy for 15 years. She has worked both within the UK and in Australia and has developed extensive experience within many areas of occupational therapy practice including brain and spinal cord injury, aged care and manual handling.

Alicia was recently employed as the occupational therapy practice educator. This role primarily helped to coordinate placements for undergraduate OT students and develop evidence-based practice education resources for the local occupational therapy staff.

Alicia is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a current member of Occupational Therapy Australia.

Alison Smith

Alison started her working life as a teacher, and then completed post graduate studies in physical education and recreation for people with disabilities. Alison’s qualifications also include an Advanced Diploma in Disability and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment. Following her studies, Alison spent a decade working with people who had suffered traumatic injuries at The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre, and then moved into the community based sector with her business Leisure Balance (registered with NDIS), which is aimed at assisting people as they return to their home and community. Alison describes the focus of her work as “supporting people with disabilities to participate in the community and have a good quality of life”. In addition to her work, Alison also spent 10 years as a dedicated volunteer with Disabled Water Skiing, helping the organisation at both a local and international level.

Allyna Neville

Allyna has extensive business and accounting experience across a wide range of roles, including project management, logistics and warehousing, retail and customer service.

For the past nine years, Allyna has been running her own consultancy working on projects with RTOs and many high-profile organisations.

She has worked on projects including the successful development and implementation of online learning systems, WorkCover programs, coaching and assessment of traineeships and employee performance management programs.

Allyna holds Diplomas in Business, Business Management and Accounting; Certificate IVs in Business, Training and Assessment, Frontline Management, Customer Contact, Transport and Logistics, OHS, Bookkeeping and a Certificate III in Hospitality.

Amber Barnier

Amber has worked as a Veterinary Nurse for more than 14 years. She undertook the Veterinary Nursing Certificate with Tamworth TAFE while working within a busy mixed animal practice. Amber has also worked as a Pound Officer and spent some time employed as an Environmental Health Officer in a remote community where she worked alongside the RSPCA in Community Animal Health programs. Amber has been part of the VET sector for 6 years as a teacher of Animal Studies, Companion Animal Services and Equine Nursing with TAFE NSW and gained a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Amber has recently completed her Diploma of Veterinary Nursing General Practice.

Amy Hope

Amy has worked as a veterinary nurse and taught puppy schools in busy general practices in regional Victoria. Whilst completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, she qualified with high distinctions receiving an award nomination for outstanding academic achievements. Discovering a passion for training, Amy gained her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to take on a new career in the vocational education sector. Amy enjoys encouraging nurses to learn new skills, enjoy their work, and take pride in their profession. Amy is a compassionate nurse, spending time volunteering across Thailand and will continue to do more during her career. 

Andriana Demetrius

Andriana has over 15 years of involvement in the make-up industry, and has studied makeup at Arts Makeup College. She managed to situate herself in multiple factions of the industry to great success starting her early career in television making up the faces of news readers at networks such as CBA-TV, SBS and ABC. She also spent the last decade working as an events makeup artist for well-known cosmetic brands such as Christian Dior and MAC. During this time, Andriana was able to hone her skills with the fashion world leading to work on many events such as Rosemount/Mercedes Australian Fashion Week, ARIA Awards, AFI Awards and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Today her extensive portfolio includes published work in magazines such as Cleo, Cosmopolitan, 2 Threads, Le Black Book, Harpers Bazaar and Yen. 

Angela McGrath

Angela McGrath has worked as counselling psychologist for over 18 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, tertiary education and community mental health. Angela uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including; mindfulness, solution focussed, CBT, emotion focussed and psychodynamic techniques. Angela has a special interest in working with people who experience anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, parenting and relationship issues. In addition to individual psychological service Angela is an experienced trainer and presenter.

Angie Bailison

Angie has been working in early childhood education and care services throughout Australia and overseas for nearly 20 years. Angie has seven years’ experience as a lecturer in early childhood education and care at TAFE. She regularly facilitates education workshops for parents with young children and has been published in parenting magazines. She has an Associate Diploma in Social Science, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment & Parent Education Leadership Training Certificate.

Angie Kasper

Angie has worked in the accounting industry for over 16 years. She has worked with several public practice accounting firms, providing management accounting and taxation services, and business advice to many small and medium sized businesses. Angie has also been responsible for the development and delivery of training programs to her colleagues and clients. She enjoys teaching and her desire to share her accounting experience and knowledge with others has led her to being a Trainer and Assessor in the VET industry. Angie holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction, with a double-major in Accounting and E-Commerce.

Ann Harth

Ann is an established author with over a dozen books and 125 short stories and articles published under her own name. She writes fiction and non-fiction for children as well as adults and is also a freelance ghostwriter. Ann has a BA (Psychology) and two professional writing diplomas. She is the winner of four awards for her children's manuscripts and previously spent 10 years working in various roles with special needs children. Having worked with the Open Colleges Group for over 10 years, Ann is a respected and valued trainer.

Anne Stewart

Anne has practical experience in a variety of key travel/tourism industry roles both here and overseas. These include; Tour Wholesaling (Qantas Holidays), Airline (Air New Zealand), Tour Operations (Horizon Holidays) and as a corporate travel consultant with Carlson Wagonlit Travel. She has also travelled extensively throughout North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. In addition to her tourism qualifications, Anne holds a BA degree in History, Politics and Philosophy (UWS) and a Certificate IV (TAE) in Workplace Assessment & Training. Anne has an abiding interest in the ANZAC (Fromelles) stories.

Anthony Wemyss

Anthony is a licensed Real Estate Agent with 23 years’ experience in the industry. He has previously worked as a Sales Agent, Buyers’ Agent and Property Manager.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma of Financial Services, Certificate IV in Property Services, Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Anthony currently spends his time operating a boutique real estate and mortgage broking business as well as assessing students completing their Certificate IV in Property Services.

Antonio Di Meola

Antonio has been a champion sprinter and soccer player who also spent time in martial arts. He has a passion for healthy living, eating and training and is a qualified Personal Trainer with a love for teaching. He is a professional facilitator in areas such as sales, business and fitness, where he thrives to bring the best out of his students. His number one priority is to help others realise their dreams and goals in health, study and their career; and to help them achieve their life’s success.

April Solomon

As a child, April would spend her free time illustrating and writing copy for imaginary ads and magazines. She has now turned her childhood dreams in to reality! April has enjoyed an extensive career as a graphic designer, having worked in magazine publishing, advertising, design studios and in-house for large brand retailers in Australia and London. In 2011, she moved into the education and training sector to pass on her passion to the upcoming generation of graphic designers. She is a self-professed typography and Photoshop nerd who is now applying her technical and design nous to web design. She believes that learning never stops and sharing knowledge with others fuels one’s own creativity.

Ben Cook

Ben is an experienced trainer who has been in the fitness industry for 11 years. During this time, he has participated in all forms of personal training as part of commercial gyms, personal training studios and corporate health programs. Ben has been working in training and assessment for four years at some of Australia’s top RTOs and brings a wealth of fitness and teaching knowledge to the course.  

Ben holds a Bachelor in Exercise and Sport Science, Certificate III/IV in Fitness, Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as various short courses through the ASCA, Rehab Trainer and Kettlebell Coaching.

Bernard Lewis

Bernard has more than 25 years of experience in tertiary education. He has worked as a lecturer at university and has been teaching and training, both ABE and VET. He also has experience with planning curriculums, providing PDs, supervising and managing people and projects. After completing his Bachelor in English, he finished a Master in English, Master of Philosophy and Ph.D. He also has post graduate qualifications in TESOL, higher education, career development, journalism and mass communication. Recently he completed a Certificate IV in Information Technology and a Certificate IV in TAE.

Boris Bojanovic

Boris' passion for strength training has lead to a multifaceted career as a competitor, coach and presenter. With a degree in Exercise Physiology, his major area of interest is functional anatomy and how to optimise movement for performance and injury prevention.

Boris' is a Corrective Exercise Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, and also provides teaching for Rehab Trainer, Australian Institute of Kettlebells/Functional Training Institute and CrankIt Fitness. Boris has also written articles and developed educational materials for Fitness Australia. He gets immense satisfaction from using his expertise in corrective exercise and functional training to help clients and educate other trainers.

Brian Duggan

Brian has over 5 years’ experience as a trainer and 14 years’ experience in legal practice. Essentially a General Practitioner and In-House Counsel, he has expertise in civil litigation, commercial, family law, real property, wills and criminal law. Brian holds a BA, LLB, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment. He is a current member of the Law Society of New South Wales and a Legal Lecturer and Assessor with the College of Law. 
 

Carole Goldsmith

Carole is an international news correspondent specialising in science, technology, finance, health, manufacturing, nanotechnology and engineering. Reporting across the Asia Pacific region for USA, Asian and Australian media for over 25 years, she has written for: The Australian Financial Review, The Age, The Herald Sun, CCH across Asia, Reed Business Information, Elsevier, and a wide variety of national and international trade and business publications. Carole also teaches business, journalism and travel courses to adult learners and speaks fluent German, conversational Japanese and French. She has researched and lectured at universities across the USA, Canada, Germany, Sweden and Japan.

Caroline Santangelo

Caroline has over 10 years’ experience in the community service sector in a range of roles in youth work, disability and mental health. She has coordinated two government-funded programs and was a Project Manager for an advocacy service. Caroline also sat on a number of community networking committees and enjoyed seeing positive change in the sector.

Her formal qualifications include a Certificate IV in Disability Work, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and most recently an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management.

Caroline is looking forward to working with students and helping them to get started in this very rewarding sector.

Carolyn Beaumont

Carolyn Beaumont BA (University of Sydney) is an editor of novels by Di Morrissey and Peter Watt and non-fiction by R.M. Williams and Quentin Dempster, as well as academic journals and textbooks. She founded a publishing company 20 years ago following a successful career as a TV, radio and print journalist, including as a researcher on The Michael Parkinson Show and assistant editor of the Sunday Telegraph. Carolyn has served as chairman, board of directors, licensee of a radio station Highland and broadcaster. She has taught journalism and general editing with the Open Colleges team for more than 20 years.

Carolyn Dann

Carolyn has worked in the area of project management for over ten years in London, Sydney and Canberra, and has been working as a part time trainer and assessor for the last four years. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (majoring in IT), a post graduate Certificate in Management and a Diploma of Project Management. Carolyn has worked as a Project Manager, a Project Advisor and she was the Training and Communications Manager for a large scale program management system implementation. She is passionate about the need for effective project management across all industries.

Catherine Ford

Catherine has been a veterinary nurse for over 30 years and has been involved in many areas of the industry and worked with many different species. Her first position in the industry was working with the Animal Welfare League as an animal attendant, where she enrolled in a course called Animal Care, today known as Animal Studies, and Veterinary Nursing.

Catherine’s career has included working at a variety of specialist hospitals, as well as Waratah Park, Abbott Animal Health and TAFE. She is also involved in the Greyhound Adoption Program.

Christine Davy

Christine Davy is an Enrolled Endorsed Nurse and has many years of experience in both the aged care sector and as a clinical nurse in hospital settings. Having a passion for aged care and a desire to see the industry improve through the development and provision of high training skills for those in the care and nursing industry, she decided to achieve her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Having worked for an RTO as a Trainer and Assessor and then with an international VET provider, as a Trainer, Workplace Assessor, and developed the course program and assessment tools for the Certificate III in Individual Support.

Christine O'Toole

Christine holds an Associate Diploma of Arts and Fashion from MSIT, Brisbane and has over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry. She thrives on sharing her skills and knowledge with students that want to work in exciting field of fashion. Her passion for education has allowed Christine to sustain a successful business as a freelance patternmaker and grader. She has worked with consulting designers, including industry-leading, “start-up” and small businesses designers. Christine’s skills allow her to work with her clients from the conceptualisation stage right through to manufacturing both locally and offshore. 

Clare Arthurs

Clare is a journalist, broadcaster and educator with a background in radio, print and TV. She’s worked as a foreign correspondent in Asia for the BBC World Service and made documentaries for national radio in Australia and the UK. She has more than 20 years experience in news and current affairs as well as stints working on publications for government, and training not-for-profit groups. Clare has educational qualifications and has worked as a journalism tutor at Monash University. She also designs and leads workshops for media professionals in developing countries, teaching journalism, communication and safety.

Clare Grange

Originally from England, Clare completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Anthropology, and also holds a Graduate Diploma of Counselling, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy. Clare is passionate about counselling and has worked in the field for over 15 years, including working as an EAP counsellor, Lifeline supervisor/counsellor, Mission Australia training co-ordinator, Australian College of Applied Psychology workplace co-ordinator and Beyondblue counsellor. She has also run a private practice. Clare is looking forward to working with students and sharing some of her experience.

Clint Rahe

Clint spent 12 years in the Royal Air Force as a physical training instructor, specialising in outdoor group exercise, bootcamps and assault course training. He spent six years teaching and training the next generation of Military PTIs by taking them through a rigorous nine month course. Clint has been an international presenter at International Aerobics Week in Europe and has worked for British Military Fitness putting clients through their paces.  He has trained professional sports teams in the English Premier League and Rugby Super League and been a weight-loss consultant responsible for designing and delivering programs for at-risk clients.

Dajana Karac

Dajana holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Youth Work) and has worked with disengaged and at risk young people for the past five years. Dajana also holds a Certificate IV in TAE and is currently employed as a Youth Education Trainer and Assessor at an alternative school delivering the VCAL certificate. She has a passion for working with disengaged and at risk young people as she would love to make a difference. Dajana is also very passionate about youth work and would like to offer her skills and experience to encourage others and show how rewarding it is to be a youth worker.

Damian Kasper

Damian has worked in the IT industry for over eight years in many different roles. Starting from desktop support, he progressed to network and systems engineering, software development and IT project management. He has worked for international organisations in both Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea, while learning to fluently speak Tetun. Daniel Irvine

A licenced real estate, stock and station and business agent, as well as an accredited auctioneer, Daniel has over four decades experience working within the real estate industry, including owning and operating his own real estate business. Experienced in sales, property, management and leasing, Daniel holds a Diploma of Business (Real Estate Management), Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. An expert in the field, Daniel currently splits his time by providing consultancy advice to real estate businesses, as well as training and assessing up and coming real estate agents.

Danielle Regent

Danielle has over 20 years experience in the design and teaching industries. She holds a university degree in design and has spent a large portion of her career in both the advertising and music industries.

Danielle has also spent over a decade passing on her design knowledge and experience as a trainer and assessor, and enjoys bringing her passion for all things creative into the role.

Driven to help her students to succeed with confidence, Danielle enjoys watching students grow and nurturing individual creative skills and styles. 

As a mark of her dedication, Danielle was a nominee for the TAFE SWSI teacher of the year, which recognises the excellence of teachers by their students.
 

Darren Pearce

Darren Pearce is a real estate professional with over 25 years’ experience, and his long and successful career continues to grow to new heights with an amazing record of achievements. He is a fully licensed estate agent, has a Diploma in Business, is a long standing member of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria and a trained auctioneer.

Darren has had a career which has seen him at the top of his profession for many years. He is a highly sought after source of advice for other estate agents, clients and friends. He is also often quoted in the national newspapers such as The Age, The Australian Financial Review and The Leader, and has even appeared on popular TV shows including Hot Property and the MPV property show talking about the industry.

Darren has worked and managed some of Melbourne’s largest and most prestigious real estate companies giving him a broad knowledge of real estate across Melbourne. His business acumen and outstanding results are testament to his attention to detail and management ethics.

David Karonidis

David is a freelance photographer with experience spanning more than 30 years. His work is widely published and represented in numerous film libraries. He has also won several awards for his photographic images. David has built an impressive reputation specialising in corporate and industrial photography, both locally and internationally. His assignments are diverse in nature and include horticultural studies, action shots of RAAF and other air forces' fighter planes, travel library images, portraiture and industrial facilities. His impressive client list includes government departments, publishing houses and industry associations such as: Telstra, Hilton Hotel Group, Qantas Airways, NRMA, Agence France-Presse, Shell and more. The insights David has gained through running his own business help him to provide relevant advice for the next generation of aspiring photographers in our photography courses.

David Lang

David Lang has over 25 years’ experience working in international tourism and hospitality management, and has been working as a trainer since 1999.

David specialises in operations management and systems design, as well as quality management systems (including CRM and HRI systems development), work health and safety management, and human resource management.

David Parasol

David is the managing director of an accounting firm and training organisation that provides taxation, bookkeeping, consulting and training solutions to accounting firms, government departments and public and private companies of all sizes. David has had over 20 years of experience in public practice, working primarily in taxation and business services, he has also been heavily involved in the development and delivery of accounting and taxation training programs for all levels of staff. David holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Deidre Coleman

Deidre has over 15 years’ experience in the beauty industry and holds a Diploma of Beauty. During her career she has worked as a beauty and spa therapist, manager, workplace trainer, skincare retail store manager and online trainer and assessor.

Deidre is passionate about providing students with a highly practical education and is committed to engaging, inspiring and empowering students to achieve on both a personal and a professional level. Bringing a wealth of experience from across all aspects of the industry, Deidre is committed to supporting students to become highly skilled and motivated therapists, and to raising the standard within the industry.

Deidre's goal is to support students to become highly skilled and motivated therapists and to raise the standard within the beauty therapy industry, and her teaching style reflects her bright personality and nurturing style where anything is a possibility through hard work and determination!

Desley Creedy

Desley has been teaching and assessing Counselling and Community Services courses in private training colleges and in TAFE NSW, designing and developing accredited courses to Advanced Diploma level since 1989. Recognition Award: TAFE NSW Excellence in Teaching Award 2007
Qualifications: BA in Leisure Studies, including studies in Psychology, Social Psychology & Sociology. Advanced Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy, Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment. 
Her experience working as a counsellor, psychotherapist and group facilitator includes trauma counselling, including sexual assault and post-abortion trauma, grief and loss, AOD/addictions, mental health, depression, anxiety, PTSD and psychosis, victims of crime and family issues.

Diana Penson

Diana Penson started her teaching career as a graduate of Sydney Day Nursery Teachers' College and Mitchell College of Advanced Education. She taught in a number of preschools, infant and primary schools whilst completing her Bachelor's degree. In recognition of her work operating a mobile preschool for isolated regions, the NSW Department of School Education awarded Diana a full-time scholarship to undertake post graduate studies in Early Childhood Special Education. On completion, Diana was commissioned to undertake a pilot program to identify and set up programs for young children requiring specialist assistance. The program flourished and grew from one location to eight locations within a major NSW regional area. This experience led Diana into the training of adults and workplace assessment. In addition to tutoring students in our Certificate III in Children's Services and Diploma of Children's Services since 2005, Diana has also lectured at universities and written content for a range of vocational courses.

Diane Stevens

Diane has enrolled nursing and leisure and health qualifications and has worked in a large number of hospitals and aged care facilities, specialising in dementia care. After completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diane began teaching community services qualifications for several training service providers. She has a passion for aged care and has personally provided care to a terminally ill client in her own home along with accommodating her young family.

Doug Price

Doug holds a Diploma of Business Real Estate Management and has been working in the industry for over a decade. As the owner and operator of Doug Price Real Estate, he offers his clients a “one stop service” in sales, auctions and property management. Passionate about the industry, Doug has also been involved in training and assessing up and coming real estate stars for major registered training organisations in Australia for many years, in both face to face and online capacities.

Dr Julia Etel

Julia graduated from the University of Sydney in 2002 and worked as a veterinarian on the south coast of NSW. In 2004 she completed a year long internship at the Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney. Here, she developed a passion for all things medical, emergency and soft tissue. She has lived in Coffs Harbour since 2005 practising as a small animal vet. In 2012 she become a part time trainer and assessor at TAFE and in 2014 began working with Open Colleges. Her most recent addition to the family is a RPSCA rescue kitten who is a fantastic personal assistant.

Dr Louisa Johnson

Dr Louisa Johnson graduated from the University of Melbourne Veterinary School in 2001 with first class Honours and the Payne Exhibition Prize for the highest marks in her final year. She has worked in various veterinary roles, including a canine blood bank, emergency clinic, rural and urban practice as well as overseas. Prior to becoming a vet, Louisa was employed as a veterinary nurse and now greatly enjoys being involved with Open Colleges, training and assessing veterinary nurses.

Dr Merrilyn Fitzgerald

After graduating from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours, Dr Merrilyn Fitzgerald worked as a veterinarian and completed a post graduate course in equine medicine. Merrilyn has been a part time teacher for North Coast TAFE and has been involved in the delivery and assessment of various courses in animal studies and veterinary nursing. She has delivered presentations at several Australian Veterinary Association conferences and has written articles on horse reproductive health in equine magazines. She currently manages the equine reproduction unit for Pacific Vet Care.

Dr Yvonne van der Veek

Yvonne studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Utrecht and graduated in 2000. After doing some volunteer work in Turkey, she moved to England in 2001 and worked in several small animal practices. In 2004 she emigrated to Australia and worked in general practice for 3 years. In 2007 Yvonne joined the VCS as an emergency vet. She achieved her MACVS in 2009 and then joined the team at SASH. Yvonne has always enjoyed teaching other veterinarians and nurses and therefore pursued her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is looking forward to helping veterinary nurses achieve their goals. 

Ean Joyce

Ean is a practising Solicitor in NSW who also holds a Master of Laws degree in criminal prosecutions from the University of Wollongong and various other post-graduate qualifications in law from the Australian National University. He has been actively involved in vocational training for the past 25 years, as a Teacher, Trainer, Assessor and developer of learning materials.
Ean also currently lectures in law at Western Sydney University and within TAFE (NSW), primarily in his interest areas of criminal law, litigation and legal history. He maintains his currency with the industry through the legal practice that he operates with his wife, also a Solicitor. 
 

Elisabeth Roche

After graduating from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts/Diploma of Education, Elisabeth worked as a secondary school teacher for 10 years before completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. For the past 5 years Elisabeth has been training and assessing the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Elisabeth prides herself on her ability to pay attention to the unique learning styles of all her students in order to help them identify how the design, delivery and assessment of learning can create positive and lasting change in their workplace. Elisabeth also holds a Diploma in Training Design and Development.

Elizabeth Mars

Elizabeth Mars is a respected screenwriter based in Sydney having written the acclaimed feature film, The Tree that closed the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. Her previous production was the script for the award-winning short feature, Martha’s New Coat (directed by Rachel Ward and screened on SBS-Television).Elizabeth has a number of scripts and screenplays in development, including the feature film The Fall and the romantic comedy The Ninth Step. She is a graduate of RMIT (Writing) and La Trobe University (History), and is a qualified school teacher and part-time academic in screen writing at Sydney College of the Arts.

Emmanuelle Guenot

Emmanuelle holds several qualifications in natural therapies including a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is an accredited trainer in first aid and has extensive clinical experience. Her interest in natural therapies started over twenty years ago when she completed a course in massage and she has since become passionate about nutrition, fitness and healthy living. More recently, Emmanuelle has been drawn to the principles of the Ayurveda practice which includes working with aromatherapy, nutrition and meditation in order to achieve optimum health. She has many years of experience teaching students a better understanding of health and wholeness.

Erika Russell

Erika works for the Western Australian Department of Education as a Primary School Teacher and has worked in both remote and metropolitan schools, even teaching abroad for several years. Erika has a wide range of teaching experience including early childhood education, primary and secondary schooling. Erika is passionate about inclusive education; she has worked as an Inclusion Teacher where she supported ESL students and those with learning difficulties and disabilities. She has been working in training since 2010.

Eva Veronica Stern

Eva has over 50 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and has worked in pharmacies around the world, including Australia, the UK and Switzerland. She also worked for a period as a budget controller for the United Nations World Health Organisation in Geneva. As a pharmaceutical representative, she was responsible for providing product information and training to doctors and nurses. As well as tutoring students in our Retail Pharmacy Assistant course, Eva still works part time as a locum pharmacist.

Eve Czerniak

Eve Czerniak is a Registered Nurse who has worked both in Australia and overseas in general nursing, as well as women’s and children’s health. She has experience working in aged care facilities, hospitals and as a school nurse and educator.  Eve holds a bachelor degree in nursing, a Cert IV in Training and Assessment and a Cert IV in TESOL. 

Fawne Merry

Fawne has 10 years’ of experience in the beauty and cosmetic industry across areas including day spa, salon, plastic surgery and laser and injectable clinics. Holding an Associate Degree in Dermal Therapies, Fawne has also worked extensively with machinery such as lasers and IPL.

Fawne has a huge passion for skin anatomy and physiology and she is thrilled to be able to help motivate new therapists coming into the industry.

Fiona Greenlaw

Fiona has extensive experience working in the dental industry, both in the city and remotely. She has worked in a variety of private practices and the government sector, including Dental Health Services and the Perth Dental Hospital.

Fiona has 5 years’ experience as a trainer and assessor with a Registered Training Organisation and is currently working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service Remote Area Dental Unit.

Fiona Kelly

Fiona’s career has taken many twists over the past 30 years. Working in hotel management, public relations, event production and finally education, Fiona decided to follow her passion for animals by gaining a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services. Now owning a dog training, grooming and pet care business and working as an in-house trainer/behaviourist at a Sydney veterinary hospital, Fiona is able to combine her ‘human’ training qualifications and experience with her passion for animals. Fiona is a qualified and accredited Delta positive dog trainer and an active member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) of Australia.

Fiona Kemp

Fiona has a Diploma of Textiles Clothing and Footwear, and a Diploma in Retail Management, and has been working in the retail/production fashion industry for over 10 years. During her career, Fiona has held positions with some of the largest and most well know retailers in Australia including Big W, Esprit, SFG and Bra’s N Things. Currently, Fiona works for a medium sized business that produces women’s outwear. As part of this position she works to develop new styles, create technical packs to send to the businesses’ off-shore merchandiser, prepare/measure samples and attend fit sessions and communicate the fit comments to the off-shore merchandisers. Fiona’s main passions are fashion research, developing new products, negotiating and traveling.

Francesca Caflisch

Francesca Caflisch's background is in market research and business analysis, with a particular focus on the IT industry. She has worked in large multinational organisations such as IBM and Epson, as well as smaller boutique agencies like Compass Research. Since 2004, she has been managing her own business, Intrinsic Sports, running team sports events for corporate and social groups across Sydney. Francesca has more than 15 years' experience in the Vocational Training & Education sector, teaching marketing and business subjects in both the private sector and at TAFE. She holds an MBA (Internet Marketing), a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Fredro Harjanto

Fredro Harjanto has worked in the higher education sector and in VET sector in Sydney, California, Illinois and Jakarta. His qualifications include the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Advanced Diploma of Business, Advanced Diploma of Information Technology, and Advanced Diploma of Management. His professional experience spans information technology, science, investment, business management and sport. His recent IT roles include IT contractor/project manager for mobile application and website projects based in Australia, USA, and Indonesia.

Gemma Heggie

Gemma has over 12 years’ experience in the digital media and marketing industry. Since 2010 she has managed her own business specialising in web design and digital marketing services to a range of clients around Australia.

Her qualifications include a BA in Media Communications, Diploma of Multimedia, Certificate III in Business and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Gemma also has a diverse background in delivering education in the vocational education sector and enjoys helping students develop their skills in the digital marketing industry.

George Pedersen

George Pedersen has worked in the community services sector for around 25 years, He has held a range of youth work roles during this time, including Youth Worker and Coordinator and Manager at a youth service and youth housing complex. Other industry experience has included disabilities, community work, respite care and housing and accommodation services.

Throughout his career, George has worked with young people in mainstream services, homelessness and accommodation services, mental health, drug and alcohol services, in both centre environments and outreach programs. He has also supported young people with legal and court issue.

George holds vocational qualifications in community services, mental health and frontline management.

Gillian Mosley

Whilst graduating with Bachelor of Education, majoring in Physical Education for the Disabled, PE and Health Education, Gillian has taught in both mainstream and special school settings throughout her teaching career at both primary and secondary levels.  She also holds a postgraduate Diploma in Educational Studies, Disability and Impairment. Gillian has experience in VET and VCAL settings and more recently broadened her knowledge of school administration within the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development by completing a Master in School Leadership.

Helen McMahon

Helen is highly experienced having designed and delivered training to both private and public organisations for over 15 years. She has had extensive experience in delivering training in the areas of personal development, management and training and assessment. For the past nine years she has worked for a Perth-based Registered Training Organisation delivering the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Certificate IV in Frontline Management. She has also been heavily involved in the updating and development of the course materials and assessments.

Helen Riley

Helen has extensive experience working in a range of business environments, from hospitality and events, to retail and sales. She has owned and managed businesses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and has enjoyed mentoring and training colleagues in her past management roles. Helen thrives on passing her knowledge and experiences onto her students so they get the most out of their learning journey. Over the past four years, she has helped many students through to graduation and given them the encouragement and knowledge to pursue their goals. Helen holds Certificate IVs in Training and Assessment and Business, and a Diploma of Business.

Hollie Gourlay

Hollie brings a wealth of industry experience to her role as an accomplished MYOB tutor. She has significant work experience in the areas of tax accounting, systems accounting, and small business bookkeeping. This experience, combined with her knowledge and skills as a computer technician, provides the ideal platform for supporting her students in an online learning mode. Hollie holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from RMIT University, a Diploma of Management, a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Holly Radford

Holly is an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with over 13 years' experience in business administration, account management, marketing and print. She has also been working within the education and training industry since 2013, in both a face-to-face and online capacity, and is passionate about the power of education.

Holly holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Diploma of Business Administration, Diploma of Business, Diploma of Marketing Communication, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and a Certificate III in Printing & Graphic Arts. She is also currently completing the Diploma of Social Media Marketing.

Janelle Chapman

Janelle has been part of the beauty industry for over 20 years, beginning her studies in 1992. She now has four children and has returned to her work after spending time in different beauty environments such as hairdressing salons, mobile, day spas, and then contract work. Janelle now runs a successful home based beauty salon and enjoys knowing that she is nurturing her clients and making them feel good about themselves.

Jannette Elliott

Jannette has worked in the fashion industry for over 30 years, initially specialising in the evening and bridal couture industry as a pattern maker, cutter and fitter in the iconic Centrepoint Tower in Sydney. She then went on to teach courses in fashion and soft furnishings at TAFE NSW. Jannette has completed a workplace training and assessment qualification as well a Certificate in Fashion from East Sydney Technical College. She is now enthusiastic about sharing her passion for creating clothing with her Open Colleges students.

Jasvir Kaur

Jasvir has worked in training, accounting and lectureship for over 12 years. She also provides bookkeeping and accounting services. Jasvir has lectured at university level in Sydney and overseas for many years. She is passionate about providing the best learning experience to all students and has received awards for her high student satisfaction levels.  Jasvir has vast accounting and management experience and holds a Diploma of Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Master of Accounting, Advanced Diploma of Accounting, BAS Agent registrations skills set, Advanced Diploma of Management, a Masters in Economics and a Bachelors in Commerce. 

Jean Flynn

Jean is a freelance writer, editor, graphic designer and educator, who previously taught design to international students at RMIT University and now works in the writing department at Federation University in Victoria, Australia. Her non-fiction writing has appeared in printed newspapers, magazines and online, and she has had short stories published in anthologies and also broadcast on ABC radio. Jean’s qualifications include: Bachelor of Design, a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Jean loves to see her student’s work published and always encourages them to submit their work for publication.

Jeanne Balaam

This trainer and assessor hold a Diploma of Beauty Therapy and Aromatherapy, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and also has 25 years of experience in the skin, body care and spa industries. Jeanne has owned her own beauty clinic and carried out internationally-certified college training and assessments in beauty therapy, aromatherapy and spa. She has done extensive international business coaching and practical product training for spa and beauty therapists.  Jeanne is also a beauty column writer and international spa conference guest speaker who is passionate about the beauty industry and loves to share her knowledge to inspire new therapists.

Jeffrey Halpin

Jeffrey Halpin has been delivering training and assessment to the construction and WHS industries for over 10 years and been in the construction industry for nearly 40 years. He brings with him a wealth of experience covering all aspects of the construction industry including design, construction, energy rating and building compliance. 
As a practising Building Contractor and Consultant, Jeffrey delivers the very highest quality standards to his clientele. 
Jeffrey is tremendously honoured to be part of the Open Colleges team as a Trainer and Assessor. He feels privileged to have the opportunity to impart his experience and knowledge to the students. 

Jennifer Roberts

Jennifer has more than 20 years’ experience working in business, retail, hospitality and administration. She has worked for many large corporations in various management and training roles in Australia and overseas, including Woolworths, McDonalds, Anglican Youthworks and Initial Style Conferences. Jennifer has been involved in training and education for over 15 years and has a passion for lifelong learning and helping learners realise their full potential. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Human Resource Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Jeramy Nusco

Jeramy is a Behaviour Support Practitioner and Coordinator for a N.S.W and A.C.T based disability service. Jeramy specialises in supporting people with autism, intellectual disabilities and acquired brain injuries by coordinating a team of practitioners, developing behaviour support plans and responding to incidents. Jeramy also runs internal training for all direct-support staff as well as workshops for families, carers and other professionals across N.S.W and A.C.T in ‘Person-Centred Behaviour Support’.

Jeramy chairs a restricted practices panel in Sydney, and sits as an ‘independent member’ on three other restricted practices panels including Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC). He also has experience in out-of-home-care, child protection, homeless youth and community development programs where he has supported complex trauma and significant behaviours of concern.

Jeremy Dryden

Jeremy has had an extensive 17 year career in the hospitality and security sectors, during this time Jeremy has held several seniors positions within both industries. He is a qualified chef, CLGCA accredited trainer of RSA and RCG courses and a NSW food authority approved food safety trainer. Within the security sector, Jeremy has worked throughout Australia and held a number of senior positions. Currently, Jeremy is operating his own consultancy business, HSCServices, which specialises in HR, training and development, risk management, security and hospitality consultancy services. Jeremy is also a Justice of the Peace, licensed security consultant, security instructor and Investigator.

Jodie Maher

Jodie began her career as a Personal Care Assistant, working in numerous nursing homes, before becoming a Registered Nurse. While she enjoyed working in the surgical and medical side of nursing, Jodie’s goal was to teach students and return to the aged care sector. 

As technology has evolved, Jodie has focused more on online education. As she herself is currently studying online, she understands the trials, tribulations, occasional frustrations, and great outcomes that can be achieved. Jodie has also taught in classrooms for the past 10 years and watched the aged care industry change for the better.

Jodyann Viviani

Jody has worked in the community services sector for over 15 years, focusing on the areas of disability, aged care, and home and community care. With a passion for planning, organising and delivering group-based learning, she has been cconducting formal training and assessing since the year 2006 after she ccompleted her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Jody now trains and assesses this qualification for Open Colleges where she enjoys coordinating and facilitating distance-based learning.

John Merkel

John is a writer, producer and director of short films, documentaries and commercial video projects. As an educator, he worked as a tutor in the School of Communication and Creative Industries at Charles Sturt University where he taught screenwriting, camera, editing, and web authoring.

Shortlisted for TropFest with his short comedy, The Garage Sale, he was accepted into the TropNest Screenwriting Mentorship program at Fox Studios, where he completed the first
of several feature film scripts.

As a lover of teaching and mentoring in the film arts, John mentors young filmmakers and assesses scripts for fellow writers and industry collaborators.

Jonathan Lavaro

Jonathan Lavaro is a passionate educator with nearly 16 years of teaching experience in the vocational and university sector. Jonathan currently lectures at the University of Southern Queensland, Sydney Education Centre and was also a visiting lecturer at the Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, China. Besides lecturing, he is also an instructional designer, a course developer and an avid public speaker. Jonathan holds a Masters in Information Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology, a Post-Graduate Diploma of Business and a Graduate Certificate in Education. He also runs a successful education consultancy business specialising in course resource design and development.

Julia Simmons

Julia Simmons has over 15 years of experience providing strategic design consultancy services across Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific Region. Her particular focus is ensuring design meets the requirements of its users. She holds a Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Hons) from the University of New South Wales.

Julie Miller

As a trainer in our Certificate II in Horticulture and Home Gardener courses, Julie will share her green thumb, knowledge of plants and her extensive nursery experience with you. She currently runs a wholesale nursery and also maintains the grounds for an historic property. Julie has also taught Horticulture previously for Richmond TAFE, and her qualifications include a Bachelor of Horticultural Science from UWS, an Advanced Certificate in Urban Horticulture and a Graduate Diploma in Adult Vocational Education.

June Colbert

June Colbert BA, Dip Ed, Dip TESOL, Cert Writing, Cert Learning Disability is a children's author and tutor who specialises in creative writing, editing, technical writing and short stories. She also works with children who experience reading problems as well as adults who want help with written communication. June is passionate about language and loves helping people to reach their full potential as readers and writers.

Justine Ryan

Justine is a graphic designer and illustrator with 17 years’ experience. She holds a Diploma of Arts (Illustration), as well as a Diploma of Arts (Graphic Art) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Passionate about education, Justine enjoys working in the industry and welcomes the opportunity to assist students to find their educational pathways and succeed in their elected vocation.

Karen Hey

Karen has been working in early childhood education and care services for the past 18 years. During this time she has worked as an educator’s assistant, EC teacher, director, area manager and educational leader. Most recently Karen has worked in RTOs supporting Certificate III students and Diploma students to fulfil their study journey. Karen now looks forward to supporting her Open Colleges students to achieve their necessary qualifications, as well as supporting the growth of their passion to educate and care for children in an early childhood setting.

Karl O'Keeffe

As a creative arts all-rounder, Karl has over 10 years of experience as a designer, educator, illustrator and artist. He has specialised in printmaking, with a particular focus on screen-printing. Karl is an advocate of accessible education, and is involved in the promotion of education as means to enrich the lifestyle of individuals, and of the wider community.

Prior to joining Open Colleges, Karl taught creative arts at Box Hill Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Multimedia Design, and is known to never turn down a printmaking workshop.

Kathryn Trentini

As an independent interior designer Kathryn’s studio covers interior design, colour concepts, decoration, product sourcing and styling. Passionate about using contemporary, independent and emerging designers, she loves to create spaces that are classic and aesthetically beautiful yet are relaxed and easy to live in.


For Kathryn, working as an interior designer is very much a collaborative process. Moving into other design areas including theatre production, set design and shop-front window design gives her a creative outlet to explore beyond the traditional interior. Kathryn is a Member of the Design Institute of Australia and Justice of the Peace (NSW).

Katie Beer

Katie Beer is passionate about the event industry, bringing firsthand knowledge and over 10 years of experience. She has operated across many facets of the industry, including sales and event management, at two of Sydney’s leading venues. She also had a role within in-house corporate event management with tour company, Scenic. Her current role as project manager for Arinex Events sees her servicing client events end-to-end, overseeing incentives and rewards programs, special events, corporate events and conferences. Katie has a passion for the travel industry and has been lucky enough to have managed events in destinations such as Canada, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Kellie Pevy

Kellie has worked within the education and management sectors for the past 15 years.  During these years she owned five florist shops and a nationally accredited training organisation which specialised in both business management and floristry programs.  Her qualifications include an Advanced Diploma of Management, a Diploma of Project Management, a Diploma of Marketing, a Diploma of Business, a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and a Diploma of Training and Design Development.

Kelly Dwyer

Kelly has been a beauty therapist for 32 years. She trained as a therapist at the British Confederation of Beauty Therapy in Perth in 1982. She started doing stage makeup for the music industry and went on tour with INXS, Meatloaf, and many bands of the 80s and 90s. Kelly also held various beauty positions in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney where she was employed as head trainer for Guinot for three years and trained in Paris. She implemented some treatment and product ideas for the Parisian head office which are still being used today. Kelly then opened a Beauty Salon in Manly where she employed five staff. Kelly has also trained as a yoga teacher in Iygengar and is currently enrolled in a Diploma of Management. 

Kelly Kaciuba

Kelly is a registered counsellor with 10 years’ experience in difference environments, both in Australia and the United States. Kelly has a Bachelor in Behavioural Science with a minor in Counselling, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Psychology. At present, Kelly is a private practitioner working with a broad range of clients, using online tools to help service remote community needs, among others. Kelly has travelled widely and has lived in several different countries including Pakistan, Hong Kong and Ghana in West Africa. This real-world experience enables her to be culturally and ethnically sensitive and allows Kelly to communicate effectively in difficult and emotionally charged situations. Kelly has a passion for counselling which she hopes to pass onto students.

Kimberley Weeks

Kimberley has a Masters degree in Human Nutrition and is currently undertaking further studies, progressing towards a Masters degree in Health & Human Services Management.

She has worked extensively in the fitness industry with over 7 years of experience as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. She enjoys combining the theoretical and practical knowledge to help her clients achieve their goals and develop a better understanding and implementation of a healthy lifestyle.

Kimberley personal experience with various fitness competitions has enriched her knowledge and experience in the fitness industry.

Kimberly Kim

Kimberly has over 11 years’ experience in training and assessment in tertiary and vocational education and training institutes.  She has also run her own public accounting and tax practice for over two years, after 10 years of working in tax and accounting field. Kimberly holds a Masters of Business Administration majoring in Professional Accounting and is a Certified Professional Accountant with a passion for teaching.

Lauri Steel

After seven years of veterinary nursing, Lauri changed her focus to the vocational training sector. She decided to follow her passion for training and educating up and coming veterinary nurses and animal carers. Lauri holds a variety of qualifications including a Cert II and III in Animal Studies, Cert III and IV in Companion Animal Services, Cert IV and Dip (ECC) in Veterinary Nursing, Cert IV in TAE and Diplomas in Vocational Education and Training, Training Design and Development, Business Admin, Management and Business.?

Leah Jeanes

Awarded the Photo Marketing Associations (PMA) 2007 NSW Young Achiever of the Year, Leah has always found her passion lies in telling her client’s story through her lens. With a belief in imagination and capturing connections and moments, Leah's focus is ensuring everyone can be documented and leave their story for the next generation. Leah currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication (Photography and Digital Imaging), a Diploma of Graphic Design and Business, a Certificate IV in Small Business Management, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has over 12 years of portrait and wedding sessions under her belt, all undertaken with the drive to grow her home studio.

Lee Cuff

Lee has worked in the clerical industry for over 20 years. Specifically, her focus has been on small business management. Lee gained her Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training and focused her skills by training students in the classroom as well as by distance learning. She has teaching experience in all aspects of business and training and assessment. She is currently the CEO of a Registered Training Organisation and specialises in the compliance and management of the RTO. Lee is also a small business owner herself, working at a cafe and catering business.

Levinia Kotey

Levinia is an accounting professional with over 10 years of commercial and public practice experience. She possesses strong understanding of all aspects of accounting and has had the opportunity to work across various industries including manufacturing, mining, hospitality and tourism and not for profit sectors in Australia and New Zealand. She has significant experience in the implementation and integration of Accounting Information Systems.

Levinia holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting), a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants, Institute of Financial Accountants and the Australian College of Educators.

Lindsay Mitchell

Lindsay has over 30 years of experience covering the food industry, petroleum industry and education and training. He has trained in various areas of business, management and WHS in Australia and overseas. In the area of safety, Lindsay has trained and consulted for the mining and manufacturing industries. He holds a Degree in App Science, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, an Advanced Diploma in WHS, as well as Diplomas in Marketing and Change Management, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Lindsey Porter

Lindsey Porter is a Natural Therapies clinical practitioner who has worked in both in research and private practice with patients all over the world. She holds a Diploma of Homeopathy, and has written numerous books and courses covering Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, Massage and Natural Therapies. Lindsay has also taught extensively in the natural therapies and homeopathic fields, and is the principal, founder and lecturer at a homeopathic college in Perth, WA. She has been a trainer with Open Colleges for more than 10 years.

Lisa Hanley

Lisa is a Speech Pathologist with over 15 years’ experience working across Australia and the UK.  She has worked closely with other health professionals and within community, school and hospital settings. Lisa also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Masters in Community Development.

Lisa is passionate about supporting people with communication difficulties to have a voice and be included within their communities.

Lisa Porto

Lisa has been working in the aged care sector since 1999, both in hostel and high care as a Cert lV AIN and RAO (Leisure and Health). A passionate advocate for aged care, she is also volunteer at Threads of Hope as a counsellor and customer relations officer.

Lisa started her aged care training career in 2004, and also teaches community service, disability, allied health, leisure and health, and some pathology units. In her capacity as an educator, Lisa aims to enrich the lives of vocational learners through quality training and outcomes. In 2014 she was listed for Trainer of the Year DET NSW.

Livingston Chettipally

Livingston has extensive knowledge and experience in development agencies, foundations, high-level government and not-for-profit organisations both overseas and in Australia. He has experience in the United Nations, mobilising resources, and also in community development and training methodology. He has expertise in strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of poverty, disability, aged care, women’s empowerment, and children and community services related programs. He holds a Master of Social Work and Master of Management (Community and Not for Profit), as well as a Certificate III in Home and Community Care.

Loretta Morgan

Loretta has owned and managed real estate businesses for almost 20 years. During her time in the industry she has won several prestigious awards and has been featured in many publications as a thought leader and top performer. 

Her high level of business management; social media, marketing and team management skills within the real estate industry has helped her to achieve many great successes in her career and in business.

Loretta is passionate about training future realtors and draws on her years of experience and knowledge in the property industry to deliver students the tools and knowledge to start their careers in real estate.

Loretta Morgan

Loretta’s had a career spanning some 20 + years in Property & Marketing and in the last 5 years specialising in Digital Marketing and Social Media. Loretta has owned and operated several businesses over almost 2 decades and understands what is required to start, market, grow, manage and exit small to medium sized businesses. Currently a director and owner of 2 corporations she also consults to and trains others in the industry on technique and performance.

Lorraine Danos

Lorraine Danos is an experienced bookkeeper who has been working as a trainer with Open Colleges since 2004. She has worked across many industries, including manufacturing, community services, hospitality and property management, and has particular experience with the transfer of records from manual to computerised systems. Lorraine has also written a bookkeeping course which was certified by the NSW Vocational Education & Training Accreditation Board (VETAB), recently replaced by the Australian Skills Quality Authority.

Lucinda Zammit

Lucinda has been involved in the health and wellness arena for over 10 years. She has a background in fitness and is now an accredited nutritionist. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine, a Certificate IV in Fitness, a Certificate IV TAE and a Bachelor of Arts. Lucinda works with nutrition clients from all backgrounds, is involved in course writing, menu design, training and assessing and is also a regular contributor to women’s magazines.  

Lyndal Wilkins

Lyndal holds a Bachelor of Teaching as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She has over 15 years’ experience working with educators, children and families and in early childhood education, and has also continuously furthered her qualifications and professional development. Throughout her career Lyndal has undertaken numerous roles. Most recently she worked as an educational leader and mentor in services- up skilling early childhood educators in curriculum planning and working with the Early Years Learning Framework.

Madeleine Lindsell

Madeleine is a veteran student of a variety of educational institutions who has a thorough understanding of online education and its requirements. Madeleine holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Equine Studies, a Zookeeping certificate and various domestic and wildlife care certificates. She also holds a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. Time spent in veterinary clinics, stables and zoos has given Madeleine valuable experience in the pet, conservation and horse industries.

Madhu Kapoor

Madhu is an accomplished early childhood educator with significant experience as a director and teacher in preschools and long day care services. She is currently working as an early childhood trainer, assessor and mentor for RTO’s and universities in Melbourne and Sydney. She has a keen interest in guiding children to develop peer relationships and promoting equity cultural responsiveness.

Maria Tentzeraki

Maria is an IT professional with experience in web applications programming and database design, IT training and online course development. She has worked for major organisations such as Oracle Corporation and the NSW Department of Education and Training, and has participated in projects for major clients including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. She also provides IT consultancy to small businesses.

Maria holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Bachelor in Information Technology and a Master of Information Systems. Her current interests are the latest web development trends, social media marketing and open source applications communities and contribution.

Mary Bennett

Mary is a practising Nutritionist and Herbalist working in a private clinic. Mary has over 10 years of experience working in private clinics and facilitating nutrition and healthy cooking workshops for both adults and children.

Mary is working towards her Masters of Public Health Nutrition. She has a keen interest in how nutrition can support health and wellbeing. Mary is looking forward to expanding beyond private practice to include the new public health modality and to work on a larger scale within the health promotion field.

Mary has also assisted in developing course materials and reviewing assessments used at Open Colleges.

Maryanne Roland

Maryanne is a registered Occupational Therapist, with over 30 years’ experience. She has worked in many settings, including hospitals, outpatient departments, schools and community programs. 

She now works as a private practitioner as well as an educator. Maryanne contributes to the undergraduate Occupational Therapy program at the University of Newcastle. She is also a Problem Based Learning Facilitator with the School of Medicine.

An experienced Trainer and Assessor, Maryanne enjoys her role as an Assessor with Open Colleges.

Masoud Tymouri

Masoud Tymouri, our business, human resources, management and occupational health and safety trainer, is highly experienced in training and assessing both local and international students. The expertise that Masoud has developed during 18-plus years of practical experience is supported by a lengthy list of qualifications. He has successfully completed a Master's of Leadership & Management in Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Studies, Bachelor's of Business, Advanced Diploma of Management, Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources), Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety and Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment. Masoud brings all his knowledge and experience to his training role at Open Colleges, and provides every support to his students throughout their learning experience.

Matthew Burns

Matthew has been employed within the fitness industry and education sector for 6 years as a personal trainer and as a PDHPE teacher/Trainer & Assessor for Fitness and Sport & Recreation. As a personal trainer, Matthew has worked for a number or gyms across Sydney and has run an independent personal training business. Matthew’s passion for learning about the body continued into his university years, where his primary focus was Exercise Science (Bachelor) and Secondary Education (Diploma). Matthew also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Pool lifeguard Certification, Certificate III in Fitness and was a sponsored fitness model in the under 30 Australian National Bodybuilding (ANB) Nationals competition in Sydney 2012. 

Matthew Morrison

Matthew is a registered Australian Strength and Conditioning Coach with experience training AFL draftees, elite level junior rugby union players and highly ranked Muay Thai fighters. Matthew holds a Diploma of Fitness, a Certificate IV in Fitness, a Certificate III in Fitness, and a Certificate III in Nutrition and Dietetic Assistance, as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

An ardent advocate for fitness, he runs his own personal training business, has worked with one of Australia’s leading supplement companies and continues to work closely with Barbarian Muay Thai fight team. An athlete in his own right, Matthew has a passion for, and competes in, both Muay Thai and Kickboxing.

Mbongeleni Chigeza

Mbongeleni brings over 18 years of teaching experience and expertise to her role as trainer and assessor for the Certificate in Education Support. Qualified as a teacher and holding professional membership with Queensland Colleges of Teachers, Mbongeleni also has a masters of guidance and counselling and certificate IV in training and assessments. Mbongeleni currently teaches in north Queensland and also has experience as a learning support teacher with indigenous students, challenging behaviours along with teaching creative and academic subjects.

Meg Molenaar

Over the last 20 years, Meg's career has spanned the areas of procurement, supply chain management, production management and logistics whilst working for a number of global organisations in Melbourne and Adelaide. Many of these roles have taken her overseas in a number of global strategic sourcing and negotiation projects, working with complex procurement and logistics networks. In addition to a Master’s in Business, Meg also has a certification in lean practices, certification in business practices and is in the final semester of a Graduate Diploma in Education. Meg is lucky enough to be currently working as a procurement and logistics manager and in the wine Industry!

Megan Mills

Megan has worked in disability, mental health and aged care sectors in both front-line service delivery and management roles for 10 years. Megan holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Therapeutic Recreation). She has extensive experience supporting clients of diverse needs, and cultural and religious backgrounds through recovery-oriented practice, therapeutic interventions, and client-directed care. The only thing that beats Megan’s passion for mental health is her passion for supporting other’s development of skills and knowledge.

Meghann Beckley

Meghann is a surgical, anaesthesia and critical care veterinary nurse with 18 years’ experience at various specialist hospitals across Sydney. Being a mature age, online tertiary student herself, she has always been passionate about adult education, and is very excited to have joined the education sector. Her in-depth experience within the veterinary industry enables her to create and maintain relationships with animal-based organisations across Australia. She enjoys challenging herself mentally and physically, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Genetics and Biotechnology.

Meghann Stewart

Meghann has worked in the events industry for over 3 years with international hotel brands. 

Meghann is currently responsible for the sales and event planning for all functions within her current hotel, ranging from social events and weddings to large conferences. Her ultimate passion is and always will be creating memorable events that not only meet, but exceed her clients’ expectations. Meghann loves to be able to share her passion, knowledge and experience with students whilst helping them achieve their academic goals.  

Melissa Kenny

Melissa has been an interior designer for over 20 years. She studied at Enmore Design College while working full-time in her first design studio. Melissa contributed to many retail, hospitality, and residential design projects before going overseas and working in a well-established London design studio, making a base to travel through Europe. In 2001, Melissa started her own design company called holmes@home. She loves designing and sharing her skills and knowledge with students that wish to make design their passion and career. 

Melissa McKay

Melissa has over seven years’ experience within the community services sector as a Case Manager, as well as a Mental Health Nurse in acute care settings. She is currently completing a Bachelors of Applied Social Science to accompany her other vocational qualifications within the field of community services, mental health and AOD. Melissa has over five years of experience within the VET sector, developing and providing training to future community service workers. She is passionate about mental health and AOD and has an enormous passion for the training sector.

Melissa Nettle

Melissa has been employed within the financial services industry for the past 18 years. During this time Melissa has had experience with general accounts, lending, insurances and OHS as well as training, assessing and development. Melissa also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, obtained through further study with Open Colleges. She enjoys playing sport and in her spare time is a sports development officer and softball academy instructor.

Michele Hargrove

Michele has a broad range of experience in training and IT. Her list of qualifications includes a Master of Education, Diploma in Training and Assessment Systems, Certificate IV in PC Support and a Certificate III in IT. Michele is currently working as a tutor in our Certificate II in IT course. She also teaches IT at a private higher education College and at University.

Michelle Anastas

Mimi has studied traditional Chinese philosophy, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, energetic sciences, kinesiology, aromatherapy, meridians, auras, chakras, homeopathy, sound and colour therapy. These practices helped her understand the human body and the body’s energy system. Not being able to take any drugs or medication, Mimi was hypersensitive to her external environment, so she sought more natural and spiritual approaches. Teaching natural therapies has been a passion for Mimi for over seven years. She has also been teaching dance since she was 15.

Michelle Donadel

Michelle has been working in early childhood for the past 20 years. During that time she has worked in community based preschools, DET preschools and public schools as a Certificate III, Diploma and early childhood teacher. She has worked in training and assessment for the past 5 years and enjoys supporting students. Michelle understands the pressures of juggling work, family and study because she completed all her studies through online and distance learning.

Michelle Gill

Michelle has been a Registered Nurse for 21 years at several aged care facilities and has also worked in management for the past decade. Passionate about aged care and ensuring that staff enjoy a high standard of training and education, Michelle’s specialised skills include infection control, immunisation, palliative care and person-centred care.

Michelle’s qualifications include a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Diploma in Health Science (Nursing), a Certificate III in Health Service Assistance, a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, a Certificate of Attainment Department of Palliative Care RN Education, a Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) and a Diploma of Community Services.

Monica Pasvlosky

Monica has many years experience, both as a corporate and leisure travel consultant and manager, as well as a trainer. During her career she travelled extensively and has had the opportunity of experiencing and enjoying everything which travelling offers. Airfares are her passion and she has sound knowledge in calculating airfares of every type. Monica currently does fare calculation for a travel agency every week. Monica has been an enterprise trainer and tutor for the past 14 years whilst in the travel agencies. Her greatest wish as a trainer is to pass on some of her excitement at being an integral part of the travel and tourism industry, as well as her experience and knowledge.

Nadine Cresswell-Myatt

Nadine holds a Master of Arts (Monash), a Graduate Diploma in Education, a Bachelor of Education, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing. She has worked as a freelance journalist for over 20 years writing feature articles, reviews and travel stories for almost all Australia’s major newspapers, a myriad of magazines and the burgeoning online world. She is currently completing a PhD in History at the University of Melbourne and has 19 years’ experience teaching writing in the TAFE sector. She enjoys helping students with their writing and steering them towards publication.

Narelle Jolley

Narelle has been working with young people for 10 years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art, a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary and Secondary) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.  Narelle has worked within mainstream school settings as an English and Art Teacher but for the last seven years has been teaching disengaged and ‘at risk’ young people. She delivers literacy, personal development skills and art to young people who are working towards achieving a VCAL Certificate. She has developed an art program which promotes student wellbeing and believes in empowering young people through active involvement in education and community.

Natalie Albores

Natalie is a Sydney based speech pathologist. She has worked with children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a number of non-government and government organisations. Natalie is considered one of the few expert adult mental health specialists in Australia and has been fortunate to meet with national leaders to advocate for this area. Natalie is also highly passionate and interested in clinical teaching, and in 2015 will complete her Masters Research in Clinical Education.  Natalie is passionate about clinical education and was awarded the title of clinical associate lecturer by the University of Sydney.

Natalie Katers

Natalie has nearly 15 years’ experience in the dental industry, from starting her career as a dental assistant, furthering her training to become a dental hygienist and also becoming a senior educator in the vocational and higher education sectors.

Natalie has successfully trained, assessed and mentored dental assistants, hygienists and oral health therapists, as well as developed resources and curriculum guides.

Natasha Arthars

Natasha started working in vocational education in 2008 and has worked in both training and educational management roles in Australia and internationally. In addition to working in educational management, she has also worked in the legal, insurance and mining industries in a variety of roles. Natasha holds a Master of Business and a Master of Learning Sciences and Technology. She also holds a number of vocational qualifications in business administration, leadership and management, human resources, finance and workplace health and safety.

Natasha Dodds

An accomplished beauty therapist, Natasha is a partner in a bridal make-up company Reflections of Elegance, and has had her work displayed in publications including Ideal Bride Magazine. Passionate about the beauty industry, Natasha has also spent considerable time passing her skills and knowledge onto up-and-coming therapists at leading beauty therapy education providers in both Melbourne and Queensland. 

An expert in her field, Natasha was also invited to review The Professional Beauty Therapy Text 2nd Edition in October 2015.

Paolo Flores

Paolo has been a Registered Nurse since 2006. He also has experience being an Assistant in Nursing, and as a Clinical Instructor/Preceptor for nursing students.

Passionate about caring for and assisting the elderly, Paolo has worked in different aged care facilities providing high care, low care, respite care, and dementia specific care. He has also worked for an Older Adult Mental Health and Dementia Specific Transition Care Program (TCP) facility.

Paolo’s qualifications include a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Master of Arts (Nursing), a Bachelor of Science (Nursing), and Diploma of Management.

Patricia Casey

Patricia is a photographic artist currently represented by Janet Clayton Gallery in Sydney and Stephanie Hoppen Gallery in London. She has completed a Master of Visual Arts (Research) from Sydney University and has exhibited internationally and throughout Australia. Patricia has received a number of awards and was a finalist in the Chippendale New World Art Prize 2014, winner of the Head On Photographic Portrait Prize in 2006, a finalist in the National Photography Prize in 2010 and finalist in the Sir John Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW in both 2002 and 2005. Patricia has taught photography at TAFE, worked extensively with young people and also within the community and disability sectors. Her teaching philosophy is one of respect, encouragement and support, which builds confidence within her student enabling them to gain the skills to translate their ideas and interests into photographs that are meaningful for both themselves and others.

Patricia Fimmano

Patricia Fimmano has been working in the fashion industry for approximately 25 years. In roles ranging from fashion designer to sales manager, dealing with buyers from David Jones and various chain stores. After completing her 3 year course in Dress Design in Sydney, Patricia was honored with receiving the NSW Government Scholarship Award in 1989, allowing her to complete her studies in Florence, Italy. Here she developed a passion for illustration and painting and currently has her illustrations, prints and cards sold in various stores in Sydney and online. Patricia has enjoyed continuing her career in fashion whilst also teaching for the last 10 years.

Peter Crabbe

Peter has been sharing his knowledge with other for over 30 years. He has taught Fitting and Machining for the Department of Technical Education in Papua New Guinea, worked as a High School Industrial Arts teacher and more recently has taught a range of metal work and mechanics courses.

One of his hobbies is the restoration and preservation of classic cars, such as his 1956 FJ Holden and a Replica Lotus 7.

He is a member of the NSW Board of Studies Industry Curriculum Committee and holds a Master of Education, a Diploma of Teaching and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

Peter Fernando

Peter Fernando first considered the fascinating opportunities offered by the tourism and travel industry when he took a position as a sales and marketing executive for the Hilton international hotel chain.

Fifteen years' of travelling and working in the industry have taken Peter to Dubai, Sri Lanka, Singapore and now to Australia. He has also participated in study exchange programs at the Washington State University in the USA, and has a Bachelor of Business & Hospitality (Hons.) and Master of Hospitality & Tourism. Peter has also been awarded a Diploma of Business Management and is particularly knowledgeable about Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) services, as well as inbound tour groups.

Peter enjoys the eLearning interactions with his students at Open Colleges and finds great satisfaction in ensuring that they receive the best learning experiences.

Peter McClatchey

Peter McClatchey has spent 23 years as a chartered accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has specialised in the financial services industry, providing accounting, audit and consulting services to a wide variety of industry leading superannuation, funds management and insurance clients. He has also been heavily involved in the development and delivery of accounting and audit training programs for all levels of staff. He has lived and worked in a variety of countries, including Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Fiji, providing accounting and audit services.

Phil Casey

Since receiving his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Phil has held a number of specialist posts in both hospital and community settings, including roles in pediatrics and working with diabetics. He has also worked as a chiropractic assistant in Sydney’s CBD for five years, a role which saw him perform exercise rehabilitation sessions for clients.

Also qualified in sports/remedial massage and personal fitness training, Phil has 20 years fitness industry experience including personal training, facility management and sales.

As an educator, Phil has over six years’ experience teaching a range of face-to-face and online courses across anatomy and physiology, Certificate III and IV in Fitness and the Diploma of Fitness.

Phil McKay

Phil has completed a Certificate III and IV in Fitness and a Diploma of Fitness. Phil began his career as a gym instructor and also worked in personal training. He later moved into a fitness coordinator role, supervising a team of personal trainers and group fitness instructors. After a few years of managing a professional gym, Phil started his own fitness studio. Phil wants to use his experience to help his students take their passion to change their lives, and develop better health and wellbeing.

Prameend Singh

Prameend is the CEO of the Inner East Social Housing Group where he has worked since 2006. He has also worked as an educator in the community services sector both in an online and classroom-based capacity, working with both domestic and international students. Prameend graduated from La Trobe University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Social Work and has worked as a front line social worker for much of his career, first working with Homeground Services and then with the North East Housing Service.

Rania Matta

Rania is a physiotherapist with over 10 years’ experience. Rania has worked in acute wards, Rehabilitation, and Emergency. Rania has also assessed and treated patients in residential aged care facilities and in the community.

Currently, Rania is a facilitator of the "Stepping On Program" which is a falls prevention program for older people living in the community.  

Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Rania worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant which allowed her to gain an insight into not only the requirement of the job, but also the great satisfaction that comes from attending to patients' needs and helping make their lives easier and more fulfilling. 

Rebecca Clark

Rebecca has been working in the hospitality industry for 17 years in frontline service delivery as well as management roles. Rebecca has eight years of experience as a lecturer in hospitality. She holds a Diploma of Hospitality, Hospitality Certificate III (Food and Beverage) and (Commercial Cookery), Responsible Management of License Venues (RMLV), as well as a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.  Rebecca’s passion for hospitality and food extends beyond the workplace. She has entered culinary competitions and has been awarded both gold and bronze awards from Salonculinaire and a silver medal in the Smithton Seafood Competition.

Rebecca Nowak

Rebecca Nowak’s career in finance and accounting spanned a variety of corporates and the public sector. She combined her corporate experience with training and assessment to venture into teaching. Rebecca enjoys and is passionate about building student confidence and skills through education. Rebecca has a Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance) with Distinction, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is a CPA.  Having studied in Australia and overseas, Rebecca continues to do pro-bono work and is always interested in keeping up to date with developments in economics, property and share markets.

Renee Pont

Renee is a Senior Occupational Therapist with clinical skills in elderly care, adult and paediatric populations. Her areas of speciality include neurological conditions specifically paediatric neuro-oncology and previously adult vocational brain injury. Renee has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy, with highly developed skills in coaching, mentoring and facilitating clinical supervision of both undergraduate and experience clinicians.

With over 20 years of experience, she has worked in all areas of health including, public, private, vocational, compensable and community health. She has successfully won NSW Heti Scholarships for her occupational therapy department to develop identified clinical skills and address educational needs for evidence-based practice.

Renee Pont

Rimpreet Bedi

Rimpreet holds a Bachelor of Education as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She has over 7 years’ experience working with children, families and educators in early childhood education, and has also continuously furthered her qualifications and professional development. Throughout her career she has undertaken numerous roles. Most recently she worked as a trainer and assessor in early childhood education and care. Rimpreet enjoys mentoring students and is passionate about her work helping students progress along their learning journey.

Rob Nelson

Rob has worked in the disability sector for more than 30 years. He has worked in both face-to-face roles supporting clients with high support needs in residential and community-based settings and in a variety of management roles for government and non-government organisations.

Rob originally trained as a Registered Mental Retardation Nurse at in Sydney and attained his Certificate IV in Training and Assessing. He recently completed his Diploma of Disability and Certificate IV in Frontline Management.

Rob is passionate about assisting others to learn and develop their skills and supporting people with a disability to achieve their goals and to lead a more inclusive life.

Robert Stephenson

Robert is an award-winning author and editor of fiction and non-fiction, having published six books, over 100 stories and a stage play. His awards include The Black Dog Award and the Aurealis Award for best short science fiction story in Australia for 2011 and runner-up in the Pride of Australia medal for his work with new writers. He previously worked as a literary agent and publisher, producing 25 titles to date, and is currently working on the next title. Robert is a very dedicated trainer with Open Colleges, having worked with the organisation for over 12 years.

Robert Wilson

Robert has been working as a licensed Estate Agent in the real estate industry for over 18 years. He has developed a detailed understanding of all areas of real estate agency operations.

Passionate about the real estate industry and passing on the knowledge he has learned, he has developed real estate training material to assist in the training of students in both the Agents’ Representatives and the Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) courses.

Robert holds a Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate), which he has recertified three times to remain up-to-date with the current course and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.  

Robin Copeland

Robin is a graduate of the University of Westminster, (Mechanical Engineering) and is the current Editor at AFLOAT Publications since its inception in 1989. As a keen photographer and travel writer, Robin worked with the Australian College of Journalism for over 20 years before it became part of the Open Colleges Group. 

Robyn Bardsley

Robyn has principally worked as a Veterinary Nurse and as a Receptionist for 23 years. She undertook the Veterinary Nursing Certificate with Tamworth TAFE while working at the South Tamworth Animal Hospital Referral practice. Robyn worked at the Coffs Harbour Veterinary Hospital, and the Koala Hospital, moving further to the mid-north coast to the Macksville Veterinary Clinic. Throughout her working life, Robyn has undertaken numerous correspondence courses related to various disciplines

Rosalie Pellew

Rosalie Pellew has over 30 years' experience in customer engagement; workplace training and assessment; facilitating adult education; leading and coaching customer contact teams; and supporting on-line learning students. 

Rosalie’s experience spans various industries from retail and telecommunication to food production. Rosalie has been in vocational education for the past 10 years. 

Pursuing her passion for adult education, Rosalie refocused into student services to assist students through their learning journey. She holds a Diploma in Teaching, Diploma in Adult Education, Certificate IV in Information Technology (Website Production) and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Roshan Alli

A solicitor for five years, Roshan Alli has the ideal combination of legal and training experience for her role with Open Colleges.

During her legal career, Roshan specialised in property and family law, commercial litigation, and wills and probate. Over the past four years, she has gained considerable experience in teaching, developing and assessing legal services courses.

Roshan's experience is supported by a range of qualifications. In addition to a Bachelor of Law, she has a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism).

Teaching and interacting with students brings Roshan immense satisfaction.

Ruchi Makkar

Ruchi Makkar has been a Trainer and Assessor of accounting and bookkeeping courses since 2011, whilst continuing to work as an Accountant. She is passionate about using her industry knowledge to create positive learning experiences for all students. Ruchi holds a Masters of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration, a Diploma of Business, Certificate IVs in Bookkeeping, Accounting and Training and Assessment, as well as a BAS Agent Registration Skill Set qualification.

Rychelle Carmody

Rychelle worked as a Residential Youth Worker with high risk young people for many years. She currently works as a Youth Education Trainer, teaching work-related and personal development skills. Rychelle enjoys being able to make a difference in young people’s lives by giving them opportunities to learn new things. Rychelle is a Trainer and Assessor at a well-known RTO for all community services courses. She enjoys giving other people an insight into what it takes, and how rewarding it is, to be a worker in the community services sector. Rychelle is currently completing her Bachelor of Social Work with an interest in child and adolescent psychology.

Sally Lewry

Sally is a counsellor with over 20 years’ experience in the field. A trained psychologist, she has completed qualifications in rehabilitation counselling, and holds a Master of Counselling. 

During her career Sally has spent time specifically working with domestic violence victims, abuse victims and perpetrators, and survivors of torture and trauma.

Sanet Van Niekerk

Sanet started her career when she studied abroad for a Bachelor and Honors degrees in Social Work. She has extensive experience and skills in working with people in different fields. Her passion is working with people with disabilities.  She has trained and supervised students from different cultures in their work placement here and abroad for the last 25 years. 

Sanet is registered as a member with Australian Association of Social Workers, National Disability Services and Work cover. Sanet has received an Australian award for best customer/client services. Her aim is to continuously develop professionally and personally.  

Sarah Burgess

Sarah has passionately worked in the training and assessment sector for almost 10 years, specialising in adult education for international students, new migrants and refugees. She holds a double degree in Bachelor of Arts (Social & Community Studies) and a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition). She presently delivers programs in the South Australian community as a Learning and Development Consultant, focusing on supporting individuals working through mental ill-health experiences and their recovery.

Sarah also works for ACATA Trust Fiji, as their Senior Community Health Education Officer (Nutritionist). Sarah has experience teaching around the world and has recently returned from living and volunteering in Fiji with the Australian Red Cross for some time.

Sharon Markula

Sharon has 25 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Australia including three years working in Saudi Arabia where she specialised in cardiac surgery.  Sharon has a strong philanthropic background which has taken her to China where she nursed abandoned children in government orphanages. Additionally she has spent a substantial amount of time in Africa in the capacity of Director and Founder of a successful charity focusing on war rehabilitation and early childhood education.  Her recent experience has been in peri-operative, oncology and aged care specialties. Sharon is pursuing teaching and clinical facilitation to fulfil her passion to pass on her knowledge and skills to student nurses.

Sharon Whiteis

Sharon is a Registered Nurse with 17 years’ experience working in critical care, aged care and community health. Sharon holds a Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Shelley Andrews

Shelley has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry across several different sectors, including aged care, mental health (facility- and community-based), acquired brain injury in residential and community care and palliative care. Shelley holds a number of qualifications, including a Diploma in Nursing, Certificate IV in Training and Education, and Certificate III and IV in Aged Care. As well as working in these sectors, Shelley has owned her own healthcare business. With a strong passion for empowering people, she moved into the VET sector as an Aged Care Training Manager. This varied history within the industry has enabled her to become an experienced and knowledgeable professional educator.

Simone Illarietti

Simone started working in aged care 17 years ago, after visiting her great grandfather at a nursing home and seeing the difference the care staff made to his sense of self. The visit helped her decide she wanted to make a difference in the lives of older people in care. Simone worked as a PCA for 10 years then upskilled to an EEN. Still working in aged care, Simone has also been teaching the subject for seven years and loves witnessing the joy students get from helping others.

Sophie Ellis

Sophie has over 20 years of experience in the workforce within the retail, business, nursing, fashion and education industries. She has had a wonderful and enriching career within the Vocational Education and Training sector including industry training, assessing, lecturing, mentoring, eLearning facilitation, teaching and educational management. Sophie is passionate about her work and imparts a wealth of knowledge to her students. She holds a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Graduate Diploma in Education, a Diploma of Management as well as a Cert III in Business Sales. 

Stephanie Henderson

Since graduating in physiotherapy in Sydney in 1978, Stephanie has worked in a range of physiotherapy areas throughout NSW, including respiratory medicine, sports medicine, paediatrics, musculoskeletal treatment, manual handling and aged care.

Stephanie began lecturing a year after she left college. She loves to teach and have someone "click on" to understand the concepts. Stephanie now continues to practise alongside training and assessing online. 

Stephanie strives to see students fully understand each subject and become the best PTAs (physiotherapy assistants) they can be and is thrilled she can help people to achieve their dreams.

Sue Cox

Sue is a Registered Nurse with over 10 years’ experience in the health industry. She started as a Personal Care Assistant and quickly attained her Division 2 Nursing Certificate, later graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Nursing. Sue has gained extensive experience in sub-acute nursing in aged care, dementia-specific and palliative care, as well as spinal cord and acquired brain injury.

Seeing vulnerable people in our society, the ageing and those with a disability who require specialised care, Sue saw a need for highly trained experienced carers. She joined the VET sector in 2012 as a Trainer and Assessor to make this happen.

Suellen Freeman

Suellen has a broad range of experience in both auditing and accounting, including managing her own business and co-authoring two accounting text books in introductory accounting and financial accounting.

Suellen has been in education for over 30 years, working with students nationally and internationally. Currently, she is self-employed as Treasurer of her Body Corporate and is actively involved in the accounting process of her building management. 

Susan Tonkin

Sue has been working in the Community Services sector for approximately 17 years. During her career, she has worked with many students who have mental health issues, as well as individuals struggling with alcohol and other drugs issues. The variety of her training and assessing have been in a variety of portfolios, such as Disability, Aged care, Family Services and in the Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Health support services sector. Sue is very passionate about working in community services and holds Vocational qualifications in Community Services, as well as Alcohol and Other Drugs, and Mental Health. Sue has many years’ experience training and assessing and enjoys sharing her extensive knowledge and supporting other to achieve their goals.

Susanna Fedele

Susanna holds a Bachelor of Arts (Design) and has a strong love of the creative. With over 18 years of experience, Susanna has worked in publishing, web and studio environments. She has had the good fortune to work with a number of Australian music professionals, developing artwork for their album releases. Her skills and knowledge span corporate and retail design, to packaging, and publications for a range of industries. These include music, movies and entertainment, as well as the corporate and private sectors. In addition to her graphic design qualifications, Susanna holds a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and looks forward to working with her students to help develop their skills and encourage them on their path to creativity.

Suzanne Judge

Suzanne has worked in many fields in local government from finance, records management, property management, procurement, executive assistance and strategic planning. She has been a trainer and assessor in the Business Services Training Package for the last seven years for Open Colleges, St George TAFE and the NSW Department of Education and Training.  Suzanne currently serves on the Training and Advisory Board of Open Colleges and holds a Bachelor of Business from UTS, a Postgraduate Diploma in Local Government from Charles Sturt University and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Suzanne Kosaras

Suzanne has been working as an early childhood educator since graduating from Sydney Day Teachers’ College in 1983 with a Diploma of Teaching. She worked for two years with World Vision Australia in their child sponsorship division, and currently works in community childcare; investigating research in early childhood and developing new outlooks and meaningful support. Suzanne holds a Certificate IV in Training and hosts second year Bachelor of Education students.

Tanya Galey

Tanya has many years of experience working in the airline industry through her role at World Aviation Systems. The organisation represents various airlines in Sydney including Air Tahiti Nui and Hawaiian Airlines.  She has extensive knowledge of sales, marketing, reservations and the general business operations of an airline. Through her role at World Aviation she travelled extensively and gained knowledge on various destinations first hand.  Tanya has been teaching in tourism for the past four years and holds a Diploma of Tourism, Certificate IV in Tourism, Certificate III and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. 

Tanya Jacobs

Her love and passion for the health and wellbeing of animals has driven Tanya to educate herself and others to provide patients with paramount health and psychological care. Completing a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing pushed Tanya professionally and drove her to complete a Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care in 2011. She is privileged to have had 15 years in the industry, with 7 years spent in speciality services at two of Sydney’s leading hospitals. 

Taryn Humlin

Taryn has many years of experience in Real Estate and business services, working as a property manager in both Government and private organisations. She has worked as a trainer since 2013 and has worked with both classroom and online students.

Taryn holds a Diploma of Business, Diploma of Business Administration, Diploma of Management, Cert III in Property Services, Statement of Attainment for Strata Services, Cert IV in Training and Assessment and she is currently completing her Bachelor of Business and Cert IV in Property Services.

Ted Smith

A Licensed Builder in NSW with many years of teaching and assessing in the building industry, Ted has a vast experience in carpentry and joinery, post-trade education, scaffolding, explosive handling, powered tool operation, elevated work platform, pre-apprenticeship, WHS induction, building and construction, etc.
More recently, Ted has been conducting pre-purchase building inspection and is a volunteer Trainer of nationally accredited courses for the NSW Rural Fire Service.
 

Tegan Jones

Tegan Jones is a qualified mental health practitioner, counsellor and trainer, with a Bachelor of Counselling and Behavioural Science and a Master of Counselling.

Tegan has experience working in school counselling, the public health sector, and as a frontline support worker to individuals living with severe and persistent mental health issues.

Currently Tegan manages support programs in the non-government community mental health sector. Primarily she works with homeless young people and consumers who spend time in hospital related to their mental health.

As an educator, Tegan aims to help students begin their careers in the mental health sector with current, relevant knowledge and the work skills needed to help them excel at providing support to clients in the future. 

Tegan Jones

Teresa Corsalini

Teresa has 20 years’ experience in marketing strategy and communications together project management in the shopping centre and retail industries. Teresa began her career working as a promotions manager for a leading department stores, being responsible for the opening promotions; store advertising and sales promotions. As a consultant, Teresa advises clients on all aspects of strategic marketing planning and implementation focusing on retail and shopping centres.
 

Teresa currently lectures at Macquarie University and is a training consultant to Western Sydney University. Teresa’s qualifications include a Master of Marketing and Management; Post Graduate Diploma in Management; Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management; Diploma of Project Management; Diploma of Marketing and Communications; Diploma of Vocational Diploma of Vocation Education & Training; Diploma of Training Design & Development and Cert IV in Training and Assessment.

Tony Hendricks

Tony is an experienced Work Health and Safety professional with over 18 years of industrial and projects experience (engineering, construction and manufacturing), and demonstrated expertise in the implementation, auditing and compliance of HSEQ management systems; along with proficiency in Training and Assessment of Australian Adult Vocational Education. Tony is currently undertaking his masters of Occupational Health and Safety and a licensed Auditor. He is also a fellow Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and an associate member of the institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Tracey Hawkins

Tracey is an award-winning author of children’s books. She also writes as a crime-writing columnist and consultant, with the experience of having worked as a policewoman. In 2012 Tracey’s picture book ‘Nancy Bentley The First Australian Female Sailor’ was shortlisted for Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards 2012 and winner of the Australian Capital Territory Writing and Publishing Awards 2012. Tracey’s picture book ‘Max Meets a Monster’ featured on the BBC Television Program CBeebies in 2012 and was re-released in the USA in 2013. Tracey is a May Gibbs Literature Trust Fellow.

Tracey Johnson

Tracey qualified as a podiatrist in 1998. Her career has spanned many areas of interest including lecturing podiatry students, holding executive positions with podiatry and foot related associations, and working in the public and private sector. Whilst Tracey covers all areas of podiatry practice, her particular focus is the foot in diabetes cases. Tracey recently completed an online Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes and has had several articles published in journals.

Travis Hackett

Travis has worked in the Community Services Sector for over 20 years. He started in the Disabilities Sector then went on to work at Blacktown Youth Services Association as a Youth Development Officer. Subsequently, Travis worked at Ku-Ring-Gai Council as the Youth Services Coordinator then returned to Blacktown Youth Services as the Service Provision Manager.

Travis has more recently worked with Family and Community Services (NSW) as a Child Protection Caseworker, he has also had comprehensive experience working as a Youth Justice Conference Convenor with The Department of Juvenile Justice.

Currently Travis works for several organisations and as a Sole Trader in the area of Dispute Resolution. He is also the Vice President of Radio Blue Mountains 89.1, a Community Radio Station and runs his own Radio Program. Travis also facilitates consultations for Non-Government Organisations in the areas of Strategic Planning and Compliance.

Vanessa Sutherland

Vanessa is an enthusiastic and passionate Senior Physiotherapist with over 12 years of experience working in private clinics. Having a Masters in Physiotherapy and Bachelor qualifications in Exercise and Sports Science, she has a desire to assist, educate and encourage aspiring students to achieve their goals and redefine the level of quality care offered to clients by Allied Health professionals.

Vanessa has been the Australian Team Physiotherapist for the Acrobatics World Championships, and was the developer, Trainer and Assessor for the Fitness Industry Training package for the NSW Police Force. She has also developed a physiotherapy-specific Breast Cancer Recovery package.

Venise Damaskos

Venise Damaskos has experience in retail, business administration and teaching and has worked for high profile retailers including Grace Bros, Norman Ross and World 4 Kids. She developed her teaching skills at the Macarthur Business Training Centre before moving to TAFE as a teacher and workplace trainer/assessor. Venise holds a Certificate IV in Business Administration, as well as a Diploma in Retail Management and a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Diploma in Vocational Education and Training and currently studying her Advanced Diploma of Management.

Victoria Murray

Victoria commenced her vet nursing career as a receptionist in an Eastern Suburbs clinic of Sydney where she became a veterinary nurse and covered medicine, surgery, grooming, practice management and animal attending.  Prior to commencing at Open Colleges as a workplace assessor she was employed as an emergency and critical care nurse with a 24-hour specialist practice in Sydney and worked in emergency, dermatology, surgery, oncology, ophthalmology and medicine.  She holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is a member of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia.

Victoria Potts

With over 15 years' experience in children's services Victoria brings a wealth of industry knowledge to her role at Open Colleges. She holds a Diploma of Children’s Services and has worked at several long day care centres in Sydney. Victoria has successfully run her own home based care service where she was licensed to care for five children per day in her home. She has also had many years of experience in assisting students both as a trainer and assessor for work placement, as well as face-to-face classroom teaching with students studying for their qualifications in children’s services.

Wendy Campbell

Wendy has worked in tertiary education in the VET sector for over 14 years teaching web design, animation and design. In between teaching she works on a freelance basis.

She is currently studying a Masters in Digital Media and has also studied web technologies, e-Learning, psychology and registered nursing.

Wendy enjoys working with people and is passionate about teaching (and learning).
 

Yvette Veselic

Yvette has previously been employed as a trainer and assessor at TAFE NSW and St Patrick’s Institute of Education (formerly St Patrick’s Business College), where she delivered event management certificate and diploma programs. She has experience across many areas of the events industry and is passionate about educating others. Yvette holds a Certificate IV TAE in Training & Assessment and a Diploma of Event Management (with Distinction).

Yvonne El-Alam

With over 20 years of experience in the fashion Industry, Yvonne utilises her skills and knowledge to be an effective trainer and assessor. She excels at patternmaking, grading and garment construction. Yvonne has extensive experience in consulting to industry professionals, and taking a design from sketch to production. She works as a Freelance Patternmaker/Grader for many clients including major corporate wear labels, and small start up designer labels in Australia.

Yvonne Turnbull

Yvonne has been a dynamic part of the fashion Industry over 30 years. Currently she is the owner of her own label ‘Why Tea Design’ which has been showcased in the media. Her experience includes working with George Gross and Harry Who and teaching Diploma and Certificate levels at TAFE. She has judged and organised events for Fashions on the Field, including initiating and implementing a successful Emerging Designers Category. The Fashion Incubator in Cairns Central Shopping Centre is another of Yvonne's innovations which won a prestigious marketing award. Yvonne brings a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge to the education sector and fashion Industry across Australia.

Yvonne Turnbull

Yvonne has worked extensively in the business sector and has worked across the banking/finance, government, health, and education areas. Her experience includes reception, executive assistant, office manager, AP/AR, payroll, travel domestic/international and events management. Yvonne’s work has taken her to exotic and sometimes dangerous locations that require strategic planning for security and visa requirements.

Yvonne has also worked with long term unemployed youth to assist them in obtaining employability skills and qualifications. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Adult and Further Vocational Education (BAVE), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Computer Studies, Customer Engagement, and is a member of the QCT. Yvonne has also received awards for partnering and innovation.

Yvonne brings a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge to business and education sector.

Zaid Kilani

Zaid started working in the Interior Design field for an elite custom furniture company, focusing on 3D modelling in furniture and interior design for both commercial and residential projects. He followed his passion for interior design and 3D modelling and now has years of experience, having worked on a variety of different interior design and furniture design projects. This experience enabled him to expand his knowledge of a variety of CAD, 3D modelling and rendering software. His passion for design drove him to start his own interior design studio. He loves to share his knowledge and spread his passion of design with students.
